From 1 May to 1 October, your dog is also welcome, but must be kept on a leash between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. in certain areas, such as: on the walkways in front of pavilions and beach huts, from the Bad Noord beach entrance towards pole 43 (towards Egmond aan Zee) and from the Stille Strand beach entrance to pole 47.

Noord-End park in Castricum
The Noord-End park in Castricum is a charming, small-scale city park in English landscape style where dogs are allowed to run free all year round (but owners must clean up after their pets). The park is largely fenced in and has beautiful trees, lawns, bridges, plenty of water for swimming and a lovely forest path. A walk around the park takes about half an hour. Thanks to the (semi) paved paths, the park is easily accessible with a pram, mobility scooter or wheelchair. Parking is easy and free in the neighbourhood, for example at Kemphaan 17 next to the Visser ‘t Hooft primary school – you can walk straight into the park via the path to the left of the school. Highly recommended for dog lovers!
Dogs off the leash in Heilooërbos
The Heilooërbos is a small but charming forest on the north side of Heiloo, with many winding paths that make for a pleasant walk. Dogs are allowed off-leash all year round in a large part of the forest. Free parking is available on Belieslaan. From there, you first walk through a leash area; the off-leash area is on the other side of the railway tracks. Ideal for a relaxing outing with your dog!

Dogs off-leash in the Aagtenpark off-leash area in Beverwijk
The Aagtenpark in Beverwijk is a compact but pleasant off-leash area where dogs are allowed off-leash almost everywhere throughout the year. With approximately 2 km of paths, ponds to splash in, and ample space to play, it is ideal for a pleasant walk. Please note: dogs must be kept on a leash on cycle paths and at the playground. Easily accessible and also suitable for wheelchairs. Parking is available on Sint Aagtendijk.
Dogs off the leash in the Egmond aan Zee dune area
In Egmond aan Zee, there is an off-leash area along Bloedweg where dogs are allowed to run freely all year round. The path is paved and quite busy in summer, so it is less suitable for dogs that do not listen well. Adjacent to the beautiful North Holland Dune Reserve (leashed and with a dune card), there are also other off-leash areas such as Robbenzand, Kroonstad and Noordlob. In winter, dogs are also allowed off-leash on the beach. Parking is available at the end of Zeeweg, where you will also find cosy restaurants and cafés. Navigation address: Boulevard Zuid 12 1931 AA Egmond aan Zee.
